ESD Electrostatic Dissipative

Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) flooring protects sensitive equipment and electronics from damage caused by discharge of static electricity, which may accumulate as people walk. E100-PESD™ incorporates carbon nanotubes that are distributed throughout the floor coating, giving the surface electrical conductivity, creating a pathway to dissipate the static electricity from the walking surface to ground.

Advantages

Prevent Damage to Manufactured Components

ESD (Electrostatic Dissipative) flooring encompasses the dissipative range.

Electronics manufacturing facilities most often specify flooring in the dissipative range 1×106 – 1×109 ohms. Ohms = Resistance to Electrical Flow. In industries where electronic components are involved, static electricity can cause damage to electronic components, readings and data. Conduction through fingertips is the most common form for static electricity, while induction is the transfer of static electricity between certain types of materials.

Reduce Static Charges

ESD flooring will reduce or eliminate the level of static charge generated by people or equipment moving over the flooring surface, when used in conjunction with equipment such as proper footwear, wrist straps and appropriate furniture.
